His life THROUGH us

The Christian walk is not about people’s efforts to imitate Jesus. He lived His life the way He did within a unique set of circumstances. We cannot ever hope to live His life, just like we can’t live any other person’s life for them either. No, the Christian walk is all about letting Christ express His life through us. He does all the heavy lifting while we simply rest in His finished work. This is the kind of rest God promised to all who believe:

Heb 4:1a Now, God has offered us the promise that we may receive that rest he spoke about. (GNT)

Heb 4: 3a We who believe, then, do receive that rest which God promised. (GNT)

As we surrender and allow the Spirit to blow where He wants (John 3:8), we will find that it becomes effortless to love people, be kind to them, to be longsuffering, patient and have all the gifts of the Spirit (they are HIS gifts) manifest in and through us.

Gal 5: 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (NKJV)

his life through us

Someone who constantly tries to be like Jesus is bound to forget that they already are. On the inside they look one and the same. They have the same Spirit, same power, same anointing, same status, are sitting in the same place and are loved the dame by the Father.

Eph 1: 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms. (NIV)

Did you see that? It says the SAME power.

Eph 2:6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (NKJV)

We are seated in the SAME place. All that needs to happen is that our minds need to play catch up with what’s already happened in our spirit.

It’s therefore simple to see that it’s actually quite foolish to try and be like Christ, when you already are. This world needs people who have awoken to their true identity, who walk like they are Christ in this world.
